Sebastien Ogier more that tripled his Rally de Portugal lead on Friday's final stage courtesy of another stage winning time and a technical problem that slowed his closest rival Dani Sordo.
The Citroen Junior Team driver will take a 26.6sec into the second day of the rally after Sordo - who still holds second - reported a sticking throttle on his C4.
Petter Solberg also had problems, arriving at the finish control with his car's right-hand rear tyre in shreds. Defending champion Sebastien Loeb set the second fastest stage time and moved from fifth to third in the overall standings.
