Rally de Portugal leader Sebastien Ogier emerged from Saturday morning's final stage with his advantage standing at 22.9sec - four seconds less than it was at the start of the day.
Times were tight through the 16km S. Bras de Alpotel stage, with only 5.2 seconds separating the five fastest drivers.
Petter Solberg was the stage winner; the Norwegian stopping the clock three-tenths quicker than his closest rival, Dani Sordo.
